Intermediate (Ages 10-12)

Intermediate class is designed for 10-12 years old students. Each lesson is 90 minutes in length. A session includes 12 lessons, one lesson per week. Students will learn about complementary and analogous colors. Students will understand the use of balance, symmetry, and asymmetry. Students will be able to identify positive and negative shapes in works of art. They will understand directional light and value, and that all solid objects cast a shadow. All students will be able to apply color theory and design. They will understand two-dimensional artworks can present the illusion of an actual scene. Students will be able to draw from observation.
